Fireworks, food and fun! Your pets may not feel the same way. Here are some reminders for this Fourth of July weekend.
Fireworks can be very scary for your pets. Make sure they are indoors and in a safe place. If you must take your dog with you, be sure you have a well-fitting collar or harness so they cannot slip away. Once they are spooked they will run and you may not find them. The food and fun can also be a danger for your pet. Make sure if you have a party or if you have guests that your pets are kept away from food. Overeating or getting table food they aren't used to can make them sick. Some items could be toxic. Alcohol is dangerous to pets. It's best to keep them inside and safe during the party.
Summer fun means summer sun! This also can mean heatstroke. Be sure your pets are kept indoors and if they are outside for any period of time they have plenty of shade and water. It's hot in Arizona in July! Don't let your pet overheat.
Keep these things in mind and you and your pets will have an enjoyable holiday weekend.
