We can all agree that dogs are always there for us and shower us with unconditional love and happiness. Don’t they deserve a day of celebration? Conveniently, Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day is right around the corner!
James Pratt invented the first dog biscuit that wasn’t simply rotting leftovers, or moldy bread. It was called “Meat Fibrine Dog Cakes”. Then, in 1908 F.H. Bennett Biscuit Co. developed hard-baked, bone-shaped treats. Dog Biscuits have now evolved into so much more. Pinterest has some great suggestions regarding D.I.Y. dog treats, but be sure you know what’s safe to feed your furry friend, and be aware of all of the fact and fiction that comes along with dog food & treats.
One of our personal favorite recipes:
Storing: This peanut butter dog biscuit recipe makes biscuits that will last in a sealed air-tight container at room temperature for one week. You can store them in the refrigerator for 3 weeks and in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Your furry loveable friends deserve a special treat on this holiday, and you do too! Find a little extra time to bake a goodie or simply purchase a healthy treat to say “I love you” on Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day!
