Our dedicated, sterile dental suite is well-equipped and includes digital dental radiology. The ScanX dental radiology system provides x-ray images of different sizes to be instantly viewed on a high-resolution screen. Larger x-ray plates allow for fewer x-rays to be taken and your obtaining the diagnostic images faster. Smaller plates help us obtain more accurate images of teeth of smaller animals. Dr. Sarah Bashaw has additional, extensive training in cat and dog dentistry and is able to provide advanced veterinary dental care for dogs and cats.
Routine pet surgery such as spay or neuter for dogs and cats, as well as soft tissue, abdominal, dermatological and eye surgery are performed by our experienced and professional veterinary surgeons at El Dorado Animal Hospital. Surgery referrals are also available to orthopedic surgical specialists for cats and dogs if necessary.
We have on-site digital radiology to provide fast, clear x-ray images of your cat or dog. Digital radiology removes the mystery by allowing more detailed images for better diagnoses, as well as providing the option to quickly and easily send images for specialist consultations.
An ultrasound is an extremely valuable tool in general medicine, helping the doctor evaluate the urinary bladder, stomach, intestines, kidneys, spleen and liver in a more detailed fashion than the x-ray allows. Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic tool, usually requiring no sedation or anesthesia to perform. We provide veterinary ultrasound services on site, quickly and easily. Some conditions may require more advanced veterinary ultrasound imaging, so referral for advanced ultrasound is also available.
Within minutes, we are able to get results from patient side testing for conditions like urinary tract infections, ear infections, skin mass diagnostics, and parvovirus infections. Our in-house chemistry, electrolyte, and complete blood count machines can have blood test results in minutes. Read more about our veterinary diagnostic lab services.
IDEXX laboratories are at the forefront of research and technology, constantly developing tests to help us diagnose conditions more accurately and efficiently. The outside veterinary lab provides blood test results in most cases within 24 hours. Read more about our reference veterinary services from IDEXX laboratories.
Many diseases pets develop are difficult to understand. We take the time to explain the condition completely and assure that you understand why testing is performed and what we will gain from that information.
Skin conditions usually aren't just a quick fix with a pill. We take extra time to discuss animal allergy and dermatology conditions with you, obtain a complete veterinary history to help understand the management of the skin problem, and teach you the techniques required to keep your pet's skin and coat healthy.
